A letter to our gracious community
Dear Fr. Jeff, Fr. Craig and our parish family of St. Fabian,
It is with great humility and appreciation that I make, what will be a feeble attempt, to express how thankful I am for the help my wife, Sandy, and I (along with our staff) received on the evening of Monday August 11th.
As many of you are aware, our building caught on fire. The good news is that everybody exited the building safely. Also, Fr. Jeff arrived minutes after the fire started, and offered the use of the church for our St. Fabian families to continue their visitation and their evening services. Fr. Jeff and Fr. Craig also offered to pick me up from the hospital.
Celia and Mary continue to allow us to use the parish fax and Internet while all of our electrical equipment is cleaned and/or replaced.
Families continue to call on us to serve them during their time of need. We have secured a temporary facility at the Arboretum Conference Center at 34555 W. 12 Mile Rd; just east of Drake Rd on the south side of 12 Mile Rd.
While Sandy and I would prefer this event had never happened, the blessings and help from our friends at St. Fabian, friends in the community, and our colleagues in funeral service, have shown not only what we all mean to each other, but that nothing gives comfort and strength like the power of prayer.
May God give you peace,
Kevin, Sandy, Robert Wilk, and the entire staff at McCabe Funeral Home
