Alice Jane Scott died surrounded by her loving family after living a very full 97 years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Iain McMaster Scott, as well as her three brothers, Iain’s sister, and their spouses. Alice is survived by her four children - Nancy (Kevin Gromley), Andy (Julia), Cathy (Steve Stemper), and Susie (Danny Hawkins) - as well as nine grandchildren (Eric, Ian, Tyler, Rachel, Lauren, Ian, Jordan, Stephanie, Jamie) and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their children.

Alice Jane Heeney was born in Hamilton, Ontario and spent her childhood and early adult years living in Ontario and Vancouver, British Columbia. Alice and Iain met and were married in 1951 in Vancouver, and his career as an aluminum salesman for Alcan took them to New York, Cleveland, Geneva (Switzerland), and eventually Detroit. They were both active in their North Church home and lifelong enthusiasts of golf, bridge, travel with friends and family, and - beginning in 1990 - biennial family reunions with the growing Scott clan. Alice continued to enjoy all these activities after Iain passed in 2015, adding many new friends and welcoming new family members, all of whom cherished her company.

A celebration of life will be held for Alice on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with gathering beginning at 10:00 a.m., at North Congregational Church, 36520 W. Twelve Mile, Farmington Hills, MI 48331. In lieu of flowers, friends may make a donation to North Congregational Church or a charity of their choice.
