Richard Lionel Gillespie died on November 12, 2014.  He was born to H. Aldridge Gillespie and Virginia Ann Larsen on 25 October 1964 in Tucson, Arizona.  He was the third of five children.  He served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Costa Rica and Panama, where he met his future wife, the former Gabriela Rodriguez.  They married in 1986 and have four children Sharla, Ian (Nancy), Allie, Aldridge, and one grandson, Richard.  Richard earned his degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma and moved to Michigan to work in the automotive industry.  He eventually moved into management, but stayed active in operational issues and eventually had four patents in his name. He completed an MBA from the University of Michigan in 2007. He continued to be active in his church and served as a bishop.  He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor and love for his fellow men. 

He is survived by his wife and children; father , H. Aldridge (Marie) of Manti, Utah; his sister, Clarice (Bob), of Bremerton, Washington; his brothers, James (Merri Lyn), of Houston, Texas; Brian (Mary Lou), of Kearney, Nebraska; David (Eden), of Bountiful Utah.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia.  Visitation Friday 4-8 PM at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton.   In State Saturday 9 AM until time of service 10 AM at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7575 N. Hix Rd., Westland.  Interment Knollwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
