Bishop Gillespie was such a wonderful man. He had a smile that would light up the heart of anyone. He was full of happiness and joy. I extend my deepest sympathies to the family. May the Comforter bless you with peace and love.
Memories
As Bishop he met with me and Ken and gave wonderful wise counsel. It was so appreciated. He followed the spirit. I also remember the many testimonies he gave in humility yet so powerful. I won't miss his smile because all his awesome children have his great grin. Especially Sharla. Gaby, thank you for sharing him with the ward for so many years!
I remember working with Rich and having some good times at TRW. The most fun was the skunk works team we had down Plymouth road at prototype. Rich always kept us laughing.
Richard always had a smile on his face. He was very compassionate and would do anything you would ask. He was alway willing to sub for me when I taught seminary. We lived around the corner from the Gillespie's and I would pick Sharla up for seminary. One time Gabby asked me what some of my favorite Christmas decorations were. I told her I loved nativities and nut crackers. That christmas Richard had gone to Germany for work and brought me back the most beautiful nut cracker. Him and Gabby were so greatful that I would go and get Sharla they wanted to thank me and got me this nut cracker. Every Christmas when I bring it out I am reminded of this wonderful family and the friendship we have. Now my nut cracker is even more meaningful to me. I love you guys and I will never forget Richard and the great work he has done here on this earth. Gabby you and your family are in our prayers.
Randy and Cathy Northgrave
I remember Richard as a teenage boy. He was kind and always inclusive of others. He put people at ease and his wonderful humor was never mean spirited. As a mother of a 16 yr old now, I marvel at his confident, kind, good natured leadership at such an insecure age for so many.
Richard is a being of light and compassion and humor. What gifts he had he shared generously with others. This life, like every event in which Richard was involved, has been more enjoyable for having known him.
Deep condolences to his family on this side of the veil yet such joy at the blessings awaiting you all as an eternal family. May the Spirit speak peace to your hearts until you are reunited again. Love, the Price/Kenners
