We are so sorry to hear of Dick's passing. Talking to him at the last Lake Michigan Catholic class reunion, we were reminded of what a great guy Dick was. Our sincere condolences to his family.
Memories
You don't know me.
Dick was my best friend
And I was his. We grew up in Fairplane, a planed development community outside the city of Benton Harbor.
In 1957 we started kindergarten school. Walking distance. For the next 10 years we did everything together. The corner of Brownway and Commonwealth, 2 house's away, Dick was smart and curious about everything as was
I. We spent a lot of time at the Berrien Hills Golf Club.not at the club or playing the course, but racking the creeks and searching through woods looking for those lost balls.
Many days and years this was one of our things to do.Dick was a good salesman as we wait at tees and sell nice golf balls. They didn't mind but the grounds keeper in the old faded red pickup was always chasing us.
Just 1 example of the tons of things we did together. I could write a book on our experiences.

Just a bit of the early years. He was a good friend.
I remember once when we had a sudden snow storm and our water hose was still connected to the wall. Richard came out in the middle of the storm to help us disconnect the water hose in order to prevent the water from freezing in the pipes and cause them to break. Richard was very kind and he treated us like his children. We miss him dearly...
