I Remember...

I met Dennis through a shared love of military history and at the time we were both doing work for the Yankee Air Museum. Dennis was travelling the State trying to get something going for the WWI Centennial. When the idea came about to start an actual museum, I contacted Dennis as his plan for a huge WWI exhibit was perfect! Boy did it take off! Years have passed, much has changed but Dennis has been through all of it. He helped to build an amazing attraction, preserve the stories of hundreds if not thousands of veterans, record interviews, advertise and represent us in the news and on television, and most importantly he was a friend to all of us here at Michigan's Military Heritage Museum. Dennis even keel demeanor hid a huge sense of humor that made all of the days fun. He always had time to work on history and still have fun. We got to see him at heavy metal shows, and in a business suit with the Governor. His presence at the museum and in my life will be sorely missed and is irreplaceable. Dennis simply put, was a part of the fabric of the museum and of my life. Farewell my friend, you will not be forgotten as your work lives on in this museum you helped build.
