As a subscriber of Jack's Winning Words, this was my favorite quote because it sounded like it described Jack: "How beautiful the leaves grow old. How full of light and color are their last days." (John Burroughs) 11/01/19
Memories
I miss Jack's smile and kindness. Loved receiving his Christmas cards and Jack's Winning Words.
Love and prayers,
Nick & Becky Pranis
I remember Jack when we met in 1974 when we moved to West Bloomfield and joined his church. He got me involved right away and that was the beginning of our friendship which last over all these years until his passing. I worked with him on many projects at the church, at the Optimist Club, and may different things around the township. We enjoyed our weekly donut, coffee and discussion together. For a long time Jack and Mary, Audrey, and I also enjoyed Friday night dinner at Gino's. There are so many memories but the best memory is of the great and positive influence he had on my life and my families lives.
I remember receiving Reverend Jack's Winning Words each day at the office. There were so many times that it was just what I needed to get back on track and focused on the right things. I would comment when the message especially moved me and Jack would always respond to me. He always made my heart so happy.
My thoughts and prayers are with Jack's loving family now and I have peace knowing he is in the arms of our amazing Father.
I remember Jack as A strong spiritual contributor to our Thursday morning Bible study @ Resurrection Lutheran Church in St. Joseph Mn. I am great full to have had the opportunity to experience his wisdom and zest for life. Peace be with you Jack.
I have the best memories of Jack Freed as our family's pastor, mentor and friend. He and my Dad shared many a doughnut and coffee together. They were always on the hunt for a good spot for coffee. Pastor Freed was always someone whom you could talk to for advice and made you smile no matter what. I will truly miss his wisdom and wit but have good memories of a great man.
Jack taking us to breakfast at a hole in the wall restaurant in Merrill at our last family reunion. Also remember him refusing our help to get him out of the car....he said "I,m old but not that helpless." A fighter and a great human being.
He was always so welcoming to me when I joined the Optimist Club. Always so warm. Loved his e-mails every morning and they will be missed. Love and hugs to the family.
