Condolence

I was a boarding student at Cranbrook from 2002-2006. Harry's happy smile and positive attitude was always there for us. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

So many fond memories of Uncle Harry, I never knew him as Harry growing up, it was always Uncle Jimmy. His sense of humor was out of this world especially watching him always give Grandma a hard time. I've heard him play guitar numerous times and his voice was out of this world, especially listening to him sing to Grandma before she passed. My favorite memory will always be the day he brought me into the camp he was doing counseling for. He asked me to teach the kids how to play bocce ball because he was so fascinated in the game itself knowing I played. All the kids of course knew him as Harry, but after the camp opening assembly, Uncle Jimmy asked me what we called him in the family and of course I said Uncle Jimmy! After that he would always tell me how all the camp kids called him Uncle Jimmy and on the bus even. Uncle Jimmy will be deeply missed and I hope that he may rest in Heaven looking down on us and guiding us as he always did for others

When I received a text from a mutual friend about Harry's death,I just pretended in my mind that I hadn't read it. I just kept seeing him in Mark and Nancy or Jim and Eileen's  backyard, or on stage in him and Carolyn's backyard, playing the guitar and singing, and joking and bantering. He was always so full of life. Then I received another text from another mutual friend, and I finally came to terms with it.I just wept... I haven't seen him for a while, but the last time I saw him, I was telling him how much I enjoyed singing and playing percussion with him, and how funny I thought he was, and how much fun it was to be around him. I didn't know that was going to turn out to be my farewell to Harry. I'm sure everyone who knew and loved him, is feeling pretty devastated and numb, especially Carolyn. My heart goes out to all of you, especially Carolyn. I wish I could have looked in his eyes one more time, and said goodbye to him, and reminisced about all the good times we had. But I guess that's just not the way life is sometimes. We can still treasure his memories though. Love and Blessings,Terry B

On behalf of the Farmington Hills Police Dept. we send our deepest condolences. Harry's love for the community and his passion for bringing joy to others made him a true asset to the crossing guard program and his community. I had the pleasure of working with Harry over that past few years and I can with great certainty that he will be missed by so many.

Sending our love and prayers. Harry was a special musician friend for many years. Ken and Harry had connection with that quick wit of theirs, drove us gals crazy at times lol. Carolyn, you both have been great friends to share fun memories with over the years. Our friendship still remains. Love you

Hard to imagine Harry without a guitar in hand, strumming a folk tune with perfect pitch. Harry with his dear wife Carolyn, giving her a smooch. He'll always be in my heart.
