Guestbook
Paul had the gifts of intellect and curiosity and kindness. I will always remember him with a book under his arm or riding his mountain bike thru trails or honing his Arabic... but most of all arguing the case for the underdog. Many people in life hoard their gifts but Paul gave his freely; I believe his knowledge and good works will live on through his students. My condolences to the Sidelko family on your loss. Semper amicitia....

My sincere condolences to everyone. I've also known Paul since graduate school. Paul was seriously brilliant and yet humble, delightfully and wickedly funny, and one of the kindest men I've ever known. I'm heartbroken as I think fondly of the last time I spent time with him at the 2019 Medieval Academy where we talked for hours over several meals. Those meals now remind me of the wickedly hot stir fries that he used to serve us all in Toronto. Requiescat in pace, Paul.

My sincere condolences. I met Paul at the medieval centre in Toronto and was honored to be his friend. A fellow Michigander, I enjoyed meeting him there. We lived in KY for one overlapping year. And I've always hoped to see him again, to sit in a room and listen to one of the most quietly intelligent people it was my luck to know. I'm sorry I won't have a chance to tease him again. He spoke honestly and fondly of his family and I recall when he brought home his first dog, a Rhodesian ridgeback, who also adored him. I hope you are able to grieve together as best you can during these difficult times.

I've known Paul for almost 30 years from graduate school at the University of Toronto, and was so happy when we both ended up in the Denver area.
He was such a fun person to hang out with. We regularly had dinner at each other's homes and always laughed so much when we were together. Paul really was the life of the party.
We are so so sorry, and wish you and all of his family our deepest and most heartfelt condolences. We will miss him so very much.
