Helen T. Shanoski

January 28, 1925 - March 28, 2025

Helen T. Shanoski passed away peacefully on March 28, 2025, at the age of 100, surrounded by family. Born in Detroit, she was the youngest of 7 children of Raymond and Helen Morawski. She was the beloved wife and constant companion of Alex for 56 years.

Helen was known for her cooking and entertaining. Her kitchen was filled with the wonderful aromas of home-cooked meals, especially Polish foods at Christmas and Easter that brought family and friends together. Her cooking was not just about food; it was about creating moments and memories that we will cherish forever.

As a wife, she was the definition of a class act - gracious, loving and devoted to Alex. Together, they shared a partnership built on love, respect, and mutual admiration. Later in life, she helped him in starting up Quality Systems Company. Their bond was one of true companionship and joy, and it was a beautiful example of what a loving marriage should be.

Helen demonstrated unwavering love, support, and dedication to her family.

She instilled in her children the values of kindness, hard work, and the importance of family. Her unconditional love was a constant source of strength and comfort.

Helen loved life, entertaining, playing golf, shopping, playing pinochle with friends, and volunteering at the Bon Secours gift shop. Those who loved and knew her best often heard her say later in life, "I really had fun with you people", and knew she truly meant it.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander and her son, Clifford. She is survived by her children Richard (Mary), Robert (Gina), Linda (Steve) Shivinsky; grandchildren Ellen (Bill) Korreck, Laura (Phil) Voss, Renee (Seth) Harris, Alan (Samantha) Shanoski, and Nicole (Landon) Meggison; great-grandchildren Joslyn, Johanna, Ethan, Zoey, Eli, Brody, Hudson, and Rhea.

Helen's Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with gathering  beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd, with a luncheon to follow.

Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
