Donald Edward Laughlin, aged 78, passed away peacefully at home in Canton, Michigan, on February 8, 2025. He was born on October 22, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio, and grew up in Boardman, Ohio. He attended Youngstown State University, where he earned a degree in mechanical engineering. It was there that he met the love of his life, Margie, and the two were married shortly after graduation in June of 1969. Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of love and companionship.

After their marriage, Don and Margie moved to Michigan, where he began his long and fulfilling career at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan. He dedicated 30 years to the company, holding various positions before retiring.

Don had a passion for drag racing, which led him to follow major events and spend many weekends at dragstrips, fully immersing himself in the sport. Outside of work and racing, Don found joy in his family, his home, and traveling. He had a special love for Gatlinburg, Tennessee, and the surrounding mountains, returning there year after year to take in the beauty and tranquility of the area. Don also enjoyed his summers by the pool, relaxing and reflecting on life.

Throughout his life, Don faced many challenges, but he never allowed them to dim his infectious smile or his positive outlook on life. His resilience, generosity, and warm heart touched everyone who knew him.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Margie Laughlin, and his dear sister, Lenore Jones of Boardman, Ohio. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Visitation for Mr. Laughlin will be held Friday, February 21st, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at John Flynn Funeral Home, 2630 E. State St., Hermitage, PA 16148. He will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Hermitage, PA.
