Robert Ray Wright, age 75 of Canton, died on January 26, 2025, due to complications of diabetes and pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sherman Wright, his mother, Elizabeth Ida May (Lundin) Wright, his older brother Joseph Sherman Wright, Jr. and his younger brother, Paul William Wright. He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Ann (Woods) Wright, his son, Michael Joseph Wright, daughter-in-law Mackenzie (O'Hara) Wright, granddaughter, Quinn Ann and his daughter, Margaret Elizabeth Wright.

Bob was born in Waterloo, Iowa on April 21, 1949 and grew up in Fayette, Iowa. He enlisted and served in the Navy from 1968 until 1972. He returned home and went to school for his pilot license. He taught students to fly in Longmont, Colorado and eventually worked for Zantop Airlines, flying freight at Willow Run Airport, until he retired.

A note on the more personal side, he met his wife Marjorie on a blind date set up by mutual friends. They were married on October 20, 1984. They moved to Canton and started their family. First, Michael was born, and five years later, Margaret was born. Bob loved to go boating and fishing and was an avid hunter. He and Marjorie eventually bought a condo in Oscoda where many happy memories were made.

Visitation for Bob will be held on Sunday, February 2nd, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of his Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m., at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Bob's name can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
