Robert N. Kochan, age 90, of Westland, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025. A beloved husband, father, and friend, Robert lived a life full of love, passion, and dedication to those who knew him. Robert's greatest joy was found in the simple pleasures of life. Summers on the lake, boating with friends and family, brought him much happiness, as did his love for photography, capturing moments that would become cherished memories. A true foodie, Robert had a special fondness for strawberry sundaes, and his love for music, particularly rock 'n' roll and The Rolling Stones, was something that stayed with him throughout his life. A lifelong car enthusiast, Robert spent many years working at General Motors, where his passion for cars blossomed. Even after his retirement, he continued to put miles on his beloved car, always seeking the next scenic drive. However, his greatest love was for his wife, Sharon. The couple's love story began when Sharon worked as a server at a drive-in, and their connection was immediate. Together, they built a beautiful life, one that was filled with love, faith, and devotion. Sharon, a devout Catholic who regularly attended St. Theodore’s Church in Westland, Michigan, was the heart of the family. Robert treasured their relationship, always looking forward to the kiss he received from Sharon as he left for work and as he returned home. Their bond was unbreakable, and when Sharon tragically passed away at the young age of 45, Robert was heartbroken. Robert took great pride in his family, and he continued to be a dedicated and loving husband, father, and grandfather, cherishing every moment with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. Robert's legacy of love, devotion, and joy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Robert was the beloved husband of the late Sharon Victoria. Loving father of Sheri Ann (Emmanual) Kamm, Robert Erik Kochan, and Scott Charles (Susan) Kochan.
