John Charles Evans passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, January 7, 2025. A longtime resident of West Bloomfield and Orchard Lake, John was born in Battle Creek, Michigan. He was the son of the late Francis K. “Tex” Evans and Janette Legge Evans. John was predeceased by his deeply loved wife of 63 years, Eileen Mooney Evans. He is survived by his devoted children Johnny (Bette) Evans, Maureen (Taro) Fujimori, Julie (Edward) Denner, Pat Evans (Liz Seaton) and Anne Evans (Eugene Rose). His cherished grandchildren, Jason and Aaron Denner, Jessica, Sean, Sam, Caleb, Gavin and Katie Fujimori, and Janette Ryan Seaton-Evans, and his great-grandchildren Robin Francis and Zoe Franziska Denner, Sachi Tara Fujimori Hemberger, and Eli Phoenix Denner brought him joy and pleasure to the end of his days. He is survived by his twin sister Janice Williams-Caltrider and his younger sister Roberta S. Hayes who have been his beloved companions throughout his life. John was a dedicated uncle to his nieces and nephews and is survived by numerous and loving friends and relatives. “Pretty good for a farm boy from Mason.”
