Haifa Amaral Dossantos

November 23, 1944 - December 27, 2024

Haifa Amaral Dossantos, beloved mother, grandmother, and servant of God, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 27, 2024, at the age of 80. She was born on November 23, 1944, in Jordan to Widad Madi and Jose Abraham Amaral. In her early years, Haifa’s family moved to Brazil, where she met the love of her life, Arthur R. Dossantos, whom she married and with whom she built a beautiful life.

Haifa and her family made the journey to the United States in 1988. For over a decade, she worked at the Southfield Manor Banquet Center as a talented seamstress and dressmaker, known for her dedication and craftsmanship.

Throughout her life, Haifa was devoted to her faith. She was a steadfast and obedient servant of God, living with a deep love for Him and for others. Even after being diagnosed with dementia, Haifa continued to serve those around her. She would often ask nurses and doctors if she could pray for them, always sharing the love of God and His blessings with everyone she encountered.

Haifa was an active member of Ferndale Assembly of God Church for over 20 years. She found great joy in helping seniors at church, dedicating her time and energy to serving others. She also hosted a Bible study group at her home every week, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth among her friends and family.

Her love for her family was immeasurable. Haifa was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother, and she was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, whom she loved deeply and cherished throughout her life.

Haifa’s legacy is one of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to God and family. She will be missed by all who knew her, but her spirit of kindness, generosity, and prayer will continue to inspire and guide those whose lives she touched. May her soul rest in peace, knowing that her life was a reflection of God’s love and grace.

Haifa was the beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Dossantos. Loving mother of Wanderley (Walkiria), Vanilza A., Valdecy A. (Elisa F.), and Viviane Dossantos. Proud grandmother Hansley, Hanniel, Henry, and Hayla Dossantos, Ana Claudia, and Leonardo (Maribel Torrez) Rodriguez, Gina E., Lucas A., and Diego R. Dossantos, Rafid, Kyle, and Mateus Selim, Gabriel, and Arthur Jones Medeiros and great grandmother of Sophia R. Rodriguez. Dearest sister of Hany (Cecil), Hisham (Sue), and Hial (Faten) Amaral, Ida Martin, and Abraham (Olga) Amaral. Haifa was preceded in death by her parents, Widad Madi and Jose Abraham Amaral.

Visitation for Haifa will be held Thursday, January 2nd, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 851 N. Canton Center Rd., Canton. A Funeral Service for Haifa will be held Friday, January 3rd, at 11:30 a.m. with gathering beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Ferndale Assembly of God, 1221 W Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale. Haifa will be laid to rest in White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Haifa's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
