Ronald John DiPonio, born December 17, 1948, died at home December 10, 2024 surrounded by family and friends. He was the son of Lou and Rose DiPonio and grew up in Northwest Detroit, an alumnus of Precious Blood School and Detroit Catholic Central High School. Like many of the DiPonio family, Ron was proud to work in construction and be a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324. He was honored to contribute to many ground breaking projects in the Detroit area. Ron met, fell fast and married the love of his life Wanda and spent 45 years in marriage together. They designed and built a beautiful family home off Pine Lake where they were welcomed by neighbors who became family. Ron and Wanda raised their family in West Bloomfield. He found comfort in the routine of early mornings at the gym. It kept him strong in body and mind and provided him with many life long friends. His legacy will live on in the stories that he told. Ron was predeceased by his wife Wanda, his parents Lou and Rose, and brother Gerry. He is survived by his daughters Loretta (Wayne), Kristin and Jennifer, his son Nick, grandchildren Leyla, Chloe, Sam, Jake and Austin, and sister Annette (Doug). Also survived by relatives and friends too numerous to name. Visitation for Ron will be held on Friday, December 13th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Visitation will continue on Saturday, December 14th, at 10:00 a.m., until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Ron's name may be directed to Our Lady of the Woods Shrine in Mio, Michigan.Ronald John DiPonio
