It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the death of Tracy William Parent, 49, of West Bloomfield, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tracy is survived by his wife Christy, daughter Lily, son Logan; his parents, Fred and Brenda Parent; his father-in-law and mother- in-law, Bill and Linda Stockton; his brother and sister-in-law, Troy and Jennie Parent; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Colin and Holly Battersby; his nieces and nephews, Alayna, Mason and Graham Parent; and Scarlett, Connor and Josephine Battersby. Tracy loved being a husband and father above everything else. He was the ultimate dad, always ready for a game of dinosaurs or to snuggle up for a movie and popcorn. Tracy loved the art of cooking and was an amazing chef; his steaks and enchiladas will never be matched. His zest for life and incredible sense of humor drew people to him. He relished golfing with friends and not bothering to try to hide his competitiveness or the mini-bar he carried in his golf bag. Tracy was also a diehard Lions fan who overlooked their decades of lack of competitiveness and was convinced he was a small part of their recent success. When faced with his diagnosis, he focused his strong will on beating cancer, undergoing grueling treatments that would have broken many others. He was gearing up to do it again when he was unexpectedly taken. To know Tracy was to love him; so many called him a friend. Visitation for Tracy will be held Wednesday, November 20th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. He will lie in state on Thursday, November 21st, from 10:30 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield. Tracy will be laid to rest in a private family ceremony at Pine Lake Cemetery, West Bloomfield Township.Tracy William Parent
