Salvatore J. Palazzolo, age 92, passed away November 10, 2024.

He was the beloved husband of the late Helen for 56 years. Loving brother of Rosalie (the late John) Glynn, Dominic (Elizabeth), Joseph (Marion), Felicia (Edwin) Shaw, Mary Palazzolo, and the late Filippa (Patrick) Casey. He is also survived by many dear cousins, nieces and nephews.

Salvatore was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Detroit Police Department and an investigator with the Department of Defense. During his 26 years of service in the Detroit Police Department, he rose to the rank of Inspector, working directly with the Department’s Chief.

He and Helen were active members of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, where Salvatore was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Over the years, he received three degrees from Wayne State University, including a Bachelor’s degree in Police Administration, a Master’s in Public Administration and a Doctorate in Education.

Visitation for Salvatore will be held on Friday, November 15th, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a 5:30 p.m. Rosary Service at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. Twelve Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. He will lie in state on Saturday, November 16th, at 10:30 a.m., until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
