Gerald J. Martin went to his heavenly home in the early hours of Monday, March 25, 2024 at the age of 91. Originally from Detroit, dad was born on January 14, 1933, the youngest of three children. Waiting for dad were his wife of 59 years, Mary Ann, whom he adored, his parents Alphonse and Eva, his brother Roger and his sister Yvette. Dad leaves behind to cherish his memory his four children, his daughter Therese, and sons Stephen (Connie), Scott and Rick. He also leaves behind five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Dad was a very proud, hardworking man who tirelessly provided for his family. He was extremely proud of his children and their accomplishments. He had a great devotion to his faith and a great devotion to the Blessed Virgin. We saw dad’s faith and his relationship with Jesus grow as he became more and more dependent on our Lord as the dementia wiped away who we knew him to be.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 10:00 a.m., until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church, 555 S. Lilley Rd., Canton, concluding with Military Honors. He will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, 18303 Allen Rd., Brownstown, Michigan.
