Rebecca Falk, central figure in the Detroit media community, passed away the morning of Friday, October 27th, in her sleep. She was in the prime of her life.

Rebecca was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 25, 1969. She graduated from North Farmington High School and received a degree in Communication from Eastern Michigan University.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mervyn and Kathryn Falk, her brother R. Scott Falk, and her life partner of 24 years, Steve Striker. She is survived by her siblings Tamara (Walt) Dindoffer, Margaret Britvec, and Gordon (Milaka) Falk, and sister-in-law, Kimberly Falk. She was the most Fabulous Aunt Becky (FAB) to Sarah (Kevin) Anderson; Rachel (Jeramy) Adkins; Emily Dindoffer; Trevor, Madeline (Will Lawrence), and Tony Britvec; and Meredith, Jack, Lisette, and Asher Falk. She was the adored great-aunt of Luke and Grace Anderson and Abbigail, Levi, Selah, and Adalyn Adkins. She will also be missed dearly by her dogs, Edison and Johnny.

Over her impressive 20-year career with CBS and Audacy, Rebecca’s contributions were instrumental in the success of prominent radio stations such as WYCD, WOMC, WDZH, WWJ, and WXYT. She played a key role in organizing events such as the Hoedown, Woodward Dream Cruise, Musictown, and the Opening Day block party. She was also a committed philanthropist, dedicating her time to St. Jude, CMN, THAW, Student Heart Check, Karmanos, and the Salvation Army. Her legacy is woven deeply into the fabric of Detroit’s social and cultural landscape, and the many lives she touched.

An avid dog, music, and Diet Coke lover, Rebecca will be remembered for her humor, humility, compassion, and loyalty. She leaves a void deeply felt by her family, colleagues, and friends. It was a privilege to know and love her.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2nd, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Her service will be held on Friday, November 3rd, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Following the service, Rebecca will be laid to rest in Glen Eden Memorial Park, Livonia.

In honor of Rebecca’s favorite color, the family welcomes those attending services to wear pink.

Donations can be made in her honor to Michigan Humane or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
