Shirley Anne Morgan, age 84 of Livonia, passed away September 6, 2020, surrounded by her loved ones.

Shirley was the beloved wife of the late William for 49 years before his death in 2007. Family was everything to Shirley. She was the loving mother of Sean (Susan) Morgan, Kelly (Kevin) Sullivan, Timothy (Mary Beth) Morgan, and Colleen Morgan. The greatest joy of Shirley’s life was her six grandchildren. She delighted in sharing their activities and many accomplishments. She was the proud and adored Gram of Rachel (David Schauder, M.D.) Sullivan, M.D., Kyle (Stephanie Crawford) Sullivan, Matthew Morgan, Catherine Morgan, Daniel Morgan, and Colin Morgan.  Shirley grew up in Detroit as part of a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins who were raised as siblings.  She is survived by her sisters, Marilyn (Donald) Ponto and Penny (Adele Robinson) Sanchagrin and brothers, Fred (Annette) Sanchagrin and Joseph Sanchagrin. She will be dearly missed by her cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Shirley was an incredibly welcoming and upbeat person. She was a true and loyal friend to many.  She treasured her time with friends going to dinner, playing cards or bingo, and attending Red Hat activities.  Shirley loved to travel, already making plans for the next trip before her bags were unpacked. She enjoyed curling up with a good book and shared her love of reading with her children. Life threw many challenges at Shirley during her lifetime, but she faced each of them with positivity and grace. 

The funeral mass for Mrs. Morgan will be held on Thursday, September 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 133 Orchard Dr., Northville. Interment will take place at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Morgan’s name are appreciated to Friends of the Livonia Public Library, 32777 Five Mile Rd., Livonia, MI 48154.
