Sr. Carlos as one of the most exemplary people I have ever worked with. I worked very closely with Sr. Carlos for 10 years at SJMAA as a priest chaplain. She was an amazing professional who had the utmost dedication to her work and exceptional attention to detail. She handled the Eucharistic Ministry of the hospital so beautifully. The Eucharistic Ministers loved her. Perhaps the one thing about Sr. Carlos that left a lasting indelible mark on me is the manner in which she said goodbye to me when I went to say farewell to her after I had decided to leave SJMAA back in 2013. After listening to her response to me it became clearer to me than ever before that Sr. Carlos did not love me just because I was a priest but she had come to love me for who I was beyond my ministerial role. Even if she never said much over the years, she had grown to appreciate the person she worked with all those years. We had a genuine working relationship. She believed in me and cared deeply about me. And for that I will forever be grateful to you Sr Carlos. Rest in peace my dear friend and there is no doubt in my mind that the Lord could not wait to add yet one more beautiful soul to the team of those that serve Him at his altar in heaven. See you there someday soon. Meanwhile your love will keep that hope alive in mine and in the hearts of the many that you touched during your life.
