I Remember...

I remember when I would come over to visit Uncle Jerry and Aunt Dee during the summer and me and Uncle Jerry would sit on the couch and play the video game Monkey Ball, where you have to use the controller to move this monkey (that is in a ball) across a course. Uncle Jerry was so good at it and he could always conquer the final level. Me being not as skilled at the game struggled with the final level. No matter if my monkey rolled off the course, Uncle Jerry was there cheering me on, giving me tips, and encouraging me to not give up. Eventually, I conquered the level! This is only one of the many fun memories of and with Uncle Jerry!

I remember when my wife and I were looking to buy the house next door to Jerry and D. I was walking around the house and saw this guy in his back yard painting something. I approached this guy (Jerry) and asked what he thought about the home. He immediately struck a deal with me. " If you buy this house, I'll buy you a case of beer." Well we ended buying the house. One day while I was moving things in I noticed something on the front porch. I took a closed look only to find a case of Coronas, a couple limes, and a bottle opener. From that moment I knew we made a smart purchase. I will forever cherish and miss all the weekend morning conversations we had, the rounds of golf we played, and the smell of the food you always had fired up on the bbq. Jerry you were not only my neighbor, you were my friend. Till we meet again my friend.

I remember meeting Jerry on his 1st windsurfing trip to Cape Hatteras in the 90's. As the years grew so did our friendship. Jerry was always so caring, generous and fun to be with. We have missed him the past few years. Jerry will always be remembered!
