I Remember...

Henny So sorry to hear of Jack's passing. I'll remember him as a rock of AZ both as an active and an alum. Not sure the chapter would have made it thru the 60's-70's without him. My many fond memories of cards, hell week, football Saturdays, and life at UM feature him, and you, in a prominent place. Thinking of you both.

Phil Stroebel

Jack was my best buddy from 7th grade when he moved to Lake Fenton. We shared Boy Scouts, high school athletics and classes, U of M, juvenile mischief, and dreams. We learned to play basketball on an old beat up hoop on the back of Uncle Herb's store. Couldn't beat his hook shot when we played "horse." We came of age after graduation from HS with a 4-day, non-stop, tour of the U.P. with 6 guys (including brother Gary) in a Corvan, searching for girls and adventure....and we found both with varying degrees of success. But our life has stayed intertwined for the last 40 years planning class reunions, and for that I appreciate Jack the most. Wishing him and his family Godspeed, and hope to meet up with him again someday to swap "war stories."

The Kappa Sigma fraternity thrives today on the Michigan Campus because of Brother Jack Warren's deep love of the order and his half century long commitment to the Alpha Zeta Chapter. What a great role model and mentor Jack was to the generations of young men he inspired as the chapter alumnus advisor. His presence and guiding influence will be sorely missed.

Jack and I we're kids together and neighbors on Fenton Road. His dad ran a small store and gas station. We played hide and seek and went sledding and ice skating in winter on the lake behind his house. I saw him and spoke with him just 6 months ago at our class reunion. Such a sudden loss for so many who loved him. Rest in peace my old friend.

I have only known Jack since 2012, but the wisdom and the lessons he gave me will last forever. As an advisor, Jack helped me and the Alpha-Zeta chapter through both the good times and the bad times. He was always there to help us when needed, but he was always there to offer us advice even when we didn't ask for it. I remember receiving emails from Jack at 1am offering me advice, even when I thought I didn't need it. Through it all, his sense of humor made even the worst situations seem better. He genuinely cared about everyone in the chapter, and gave so much of his time and energy to helping us. He was a mentor and an advisor, but more importantly, a great friend and the golden standard of a Kappa Sigma. You will be greatly missed Jack. A.E.K.?.B.
