Memories
when he took me and the other top history students to Greenfield Village. It made me feel very special. I continued studying history and currently work in a historical museum. Mr. Seavitt definitely inspired my appreciation for history.
Dear Mr. Seavitt, you will be very missed! You are one of the best teachers ever. You were my teacher for algebra, history, & computers during the 1988-1989 school year. I saved my notebook from your algebra class because your method was so great & inspired a love of algebra. The other day I was thinking about my favorite teachers & of how nice it would be to visit you & tell you what a great influence you are. I wish I could be at the service to honor you. You will always be very fondly remembered. A truly inspirational, commited, & model teacher.
Your Forever Student,
Kiran Arora
p.s. I remember what a great time we had going to Greenfield Village with you!
Mr. Seavitt was one of my favorite Power Middle School teachers! I absolutely loved his algebra and history class and can still remember many details regarding his teaching style and instruction. He was a wonderful communicator and had such a gift for explaining concepts in a clear and direct manner. I always remember him as a very warm and kind teacher.
Dear Mr. Seavitt, I was a student of yours in 88-89 school year for history and algebra classes at Power Middle School. My love for math only got stronger in your class and I loved history for the stories you told us during class. Thank you for planting the seed; I went onto get a mathematics degree in undergrad.
Thank you very much.
Sincerely,
Chand Anne
Mr Seavitt was the best teacher I ever had. He had a way of making history and math enjoyable, without flashy projects or gimmicks. I had the opportunity to go Greenfield Village at the end of the year and think about it every time I take my family there. I hope he knew what a wonderful impact he had on so many students!
How wonderful and calm Mr. Seavitt was in class. Being a shy student who became nervous in groups, I was always calmed in his Algebra class. You truly deserved the Teacher of the Year awards and your Hall of Fame induction. Amazing man and teacher who will be truly missed by many.
I remember Mr. Seavitt's class and him taking students to Greenfield Village for our hard work in his class. I even remember him buying us lunch. He was a great educator and a kind, sincere person. Go in peace.
Jim was the first teacher I met when I was hired at Power Middle School. We taught the same subjects and he immediately shared all of his materials and expertise with me. He looked out for me personally as well, often asking after my family, etc. He was a kind soul and I like to think that I'm a better man for knowing him. Jim, thank you for your friendship and example. Well done good and faithful servant. You will be missed by more people than you can imagine.
Mr. Seavitt was the best teacher I ever had--I'll always remember the end-of-the-semester trip to Greenfield Village he took his students on. He was a great person and had a tremendous gift for sharing his passion for learning with his students.
My love of history began in Mr. Seavitt's class in 2001. He taught in a way that kept every classmate at the edge of their seat wanting more. I hope my children are blessed to have a teacher as passionate and kind as he was.
Jim was an incredible colleague and a master of his craft. He engaged every person he encountered through a cerebral journal that left us all the wiser. He will be missed, but always adored.
