Joanne Marie Grogan, age 62, passed away on May 3, 2026. She was born on May 22, 1963 in Detroit, Michigan, to Donald and Maria Carmen Grogan.

Joanne graduated high school with honors and also attended Vocational School, where she studied Horticulture, a fitting pursuit for someone who had a deep love of flowers and plants. That love of nature was something she inherited from her parents, and she found joy in the beauty of the natural world, even dreaming of one day working in a flower shop.

Joanne had a deep love of music and was blessed with a lovely voice. She put that gift to use by participating in the choir and performing in the production of South Pacific. She could often be found singing country songs and cherished church hymns, and had a special fondness for the beloved theme from Little House on the Prairie.

Among her most treasured experiences were summers spent swimming at the family cottage on Watkins Lake, and her participation in SCAMP (School Camp), a meaningful program for those with special needs that held a dear place in her heart.

Joanne possessed a remarkable gift for remembering the birthdays of everyone she loved, including her nieces, nephews, and all those close to her, and she never let a special day pass without singing Happy Birthday to them. It was one of the many devoted ways she showed her love.

Faith was a quiet but powerful presence in Joanne's life. Those who were fortunate enough to have her visit will never forget the way she would offer a prayer, spoken straight from her heart, giving thanks for all of her blessings. It was a gift that never failed to move those around her.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate and dedicated staff at Evergreen Rehabilitation Center in Southfield, Michigan, for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Joanne.

Joanne was the cherished daughter of the late Donald and Maria Carmen Grogan. Dearest sister of Donald P. (Aleida) Grogan, Maureen (Ron) Omans, Daniel J. (Heidi) Grogan, James R. Grogan, and Sister Maria Carmen Grogan, RSM. Proud Aunt of many beloved nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation for Joanne will be held on Friday, June 5th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary Service and time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. Memorial gathering will continue on Saturday, June 6th, at 10:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 4300 Walnut Lake Rd., West Bloomfield. Following Mass she will be laid to rest in Pine Lake Cemetery, West Bloomfield Township.
