Julie Ann Walton

May 3, 1964 - April 20, 2024

Julie Ann Walton, age 59 of Lathrup Village, passed away suddenly on April 20th, 2024.

Julie attended Mercy High School (class of 1982). She was involved in The Harlequins theater group at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School, where she would meet the love of her life, Gregg, whom she would marry in April 1990.

After earning an accounting degree and becoming a Certified Public Accountant, Julie would go on to work at several companies, including owning and operating her own bed and breakfast, "The Crop Inn," before finding a home at Redico, LLC.

Julie was known to be very active in supporting the plays and musicals at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs and U of D Jesuit. From running concessions to donning the role of "Producer," Julie was always generous with her time and willing to help however she could.

Julie loved scrapbooking, her favorite hobby. From taking pictures to assembling her masterpieces, Julie was a true chronicler of the lives of her family and friends. She loved scrapbooking for friends just as much as for her own family, often spending hours creating scrapbooks to give to friends. She looked forward every year to the Great Lakes Mega Meet scrapbooking convention, where she would take in new ideas and methods, and would in turn teach others what she had learned.

Julie will be remembered not only for her generosity and community engagement, but for her infectious positivity and one-of-a-kind laugh. A true conversationalist, Julie could effortlessly keep any discussion engaging and lively, and you wouldn't need to wait long to hear her laugh, a laugh that could be picked out of any crowd.

Julie was the beloved wife of Gregg, and loving mother of Jay, Matthew and Lindsey. Dear sister of James (Jennifer) Reed and Stephanie Reed, and aunt of Delaney, Zoe, Kenley and Amelia.

Visitation for Julie will be held on Friday, April 26th, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with an evening Remembrance Service at 6:30 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills. She will lie in state on Saturday, April 27th, at 9:30 a.m. until the time of her Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Church of the Transfiguration, 25225 Code Rd., Southfield.

Memorial donations in Julie’s name can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
