David John Brunette

June 30, 1959 - March 31, 2024

David John Brunette, age 64 of Farmington Hills, passed away March 31, 2024.

David was born on June 30, 1959 in Ironwood, Michigan, and then moved to Harrisville, Michigan at 12 years old. He graduated from Alcona High School in 1977 and earned his bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from Lawerence Technological University in 1985. He worked at Detroit Diesel/MTU America as an engineer and then as a senior sales manager. David enjoyed hunting, shooting, photography, and reading. He was also a part of SAE (Society of Automotive Engineering) and was a participant of some patents.

After his time at LTU, he met Suzanne at Oakland Community College when they were both study partners in Spanish class. Later on, they would be married on August 6th, 1994, with the wedding rings being from Singapore. In March of 2000, they both traveled to Hanoi, Vietnam where they would adopt their first son, Joshua. 3 years later they traveled to Seoul, South Korea where they also adopted their other son, Jonathan. David said multiple times that adopting kids was the best decision he has ever made.

David loved to support his family in any way possible, whether it was watching his sons play sports growing up or teaching them a new skill for their future endeavors. David always had a huge smile, and his sense of humor was like no other.

He was a loving and caring husband, father, and friend.

David is survived by his wife, Suzanne Brunette (nee. Babiarz); his sons, Joshua and Jonathan Brunette; his siblings, Cathy Gronski and Charles Brunette; his niece and nephew, Rebecca Reynolds, Chris Gronski and many more nieces and nephews that brought him joy over the years.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Bernice Brunette (nee.Cocking) and his sister, Alice Brunette.

A Memorial Gathering for David will be held Friday, April 12th, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Eulogy Service at 4:00 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
