Mary Ann (Kentzler) Trenkle, age 77, was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 18, 1944 and passed away from natural causes on October 15, 2022 at Fox Run Senior Living Community in Novi, Michigan. Mary Ann graduated in 1962 from Neshaminy High. She received a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University in 1966 and a master’s degree in education from the University of Pittsburgh. She started her teaching career with the Birmingham School District, taught at many of the elementary schools, and retired after 35 years. She was known as an excellent and caring teacher to all her students and continued to tutor in reading recovery after her retirement. Mary Ann loved traveling, entertaining friends, spending summers at the Jersey Shore, and was a lifelong 1st week camper at Camp Michigania. She treasured spending time with her family and especially her granddaughters. She is predeceased by her parents, Isabelle and Arthur Kentzler, her sister, Pat (Kentzler) May, and adopted brother, Timothy Kentzler. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, John Trenkle of Novi, MI, her two sons and spouses, William and Amy of Bethesda, MD, and James and Denisa of Piedmont, CA, along with her two granddaughters (Caitlin and Matilda), her nephews, her nieces and many cousins. Memorial Visitation for Mrs. Trenkle will be held on Monday, November 21st, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of her Memorial Service at 2:30 p.m. at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd., Farmington Hills.
