John R. Farley, Sr.

December 29, 1926 - August 31, 2015

FARLEY, SR., John Redmond age 88 passed away August 31, 2015. Husband of Mary Anne for 59 years. Father of Leisa (Charles) Passarelli, Kenneth, John Jr., and Christopher (Camille Neagu) Farley. Grandfather of Travis, Kaleigh, and Tessa Passarelli, and Claire, Adam, and Larissa Farley. We know John will join his mother Genevieve, David Keating, and his beloved dog, Trailer.

John was a veteran of the United States Army as well as the United States Airforce/Airforce Reserve from which he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was honored for his Boy Scout leadership of 40 plus years during which he co-founded the Boy Scout camp, Camp Read. John co-wrote the book For Joys We’ll Ne’er Forget, a tribute to the history of Camp Read. He was also on the Farmington Community Center Board of Directors.

Visitation Friday 4pm-8pm with a Rosary at 7pm at McCabe Funeral Home, 31950 W. 12 Mile Rd. Farmington Hills. In state Saturday 10am until time of Funeral Mass 10:30am at St. Fabian Catholic Church, 32200 W. 12 Mile Rd. Farmington Hills. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Boy Scouts of America and National Kidney Foundation.
